Within the Celebrate Recovery Inside ministry there are a variety of volunteer opportunities. Listed below are some of the positions available and the approximate time allotment for each. Please contact us if you would like to help.
AftercareAftercare encompasses the services we provide to the men who parole from prison. We only serve those men who have committed a lengthy amount of time to Celebrate Recovery Inside.
Home Plan Assistant - This person receives files on men who are within 3 months of leaving prison. Working on the files in the chronological order of release, the volunteer will make phone calls and emails trying to secure housing. They will provide weekly email updates to the Aftercare Director and CRI Prison Director. They may communicate with Probation and Parole inside the prison.
Requirements: Must be computer literate with email access
Time Requirement: It varies by release dates but usually about 1-2 hours per week.
Office Support - This person will work in the Small Group office at the church on a weekly basis. They will retrieve phone messages and emails for Celebrate Recovery Inside. They will do some data entry work and manage files. They may also take care of managing the awards system within the Celebrate Recovery Inside ministry.
Requirements: Computer literate with basic knowlegde of Microsoft Access
Time Requirement: Approximately 1-2 hours per week
Volunteer In Corrections (VIC) - This person would go through a background check, TB testing and training to be permitted to go into the prison to work with the Celebrate Recovery Inside ministry. We prefer men to hold this position. Initially there would be a period of observation watching other VIC’s in action. Our VIC’s do not run or teach the Step-Studies or weekly meetings but they offer leadership guidance, monitor adherence to CRI guidelines and help with problem solving. They are role models for Christian living.
Requirements: A passion to show the love of Christ and dependability
Time Requirement: Weekly or bi-weekly evening visits to the prison
